How about we start our own non-profit transport company for special events? Is it difficult to rent a truck and driver and then he only has to ride return with whatever is in the back? IndianRoadie 1

With Kulula it is no extra costs if it is under your 20kg baggage limit. But I think they change their policies during the Argus so that you have to pay extra for a bike. Not sure though

Luckily I don't need to pay for accomodation or car hire but flights alone through Mango were R4350.00 including the bike fee of R275.00 each way. It's such an awesome event. But i would rather spend that type of money on a 3towers mankele stage race and have fun for three days. Li Mu Bai 1

Ryan's dad Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 This year it's flights for me , the wife and 3 year old son ( over 2 is full price ) accommodation , car hire and bike transport. It's around R18 000.00We are making a mini holiday out of it. Flying down on the Wednesday afternoon before the race and back on the Tuesday late afternoon after. I don't think I will be doing it every year and might make it a "boys" weekend in future.
