In the week running up to the world's largest timed cycle race, a South African retailer has announced that he is stocking a vibrating cycle seat, The Happy Ride.

Featured on The Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan (UK) and the Daily Mail (UK), the invention caused quite a stir in the British summer, and is now available in South Africa.

Explains George Masche, owner of adult online retail site, www.passionfruit.co.za, The Happy Ride has been incredibly popular internationally, and so we decided to offer it here in South Africa.

People are becoming more adventurous and curious, and this makes your ride to work that little bit more exciting more smiles per mile and yet still very discreet.

The seat covers inconspicuous black design fits all seat sizes and are controlled via a battery powered remote control that tucks away into a pocket in the seat.

This way, you can peddle away unencumbered and customise your ride with vibes that range from mellow and mild to thrilling.

Inventor Claire Bowden says, Thanks to the UKs cycling boom and the building obsession around next year's Fifty Shades of Grey movie both adults toys and cycling are firmly on the public's radar.

It was only a matter of time that the two combined to make your daily cycle pleasurable.

The country's biggest one-day sporting event is fast becoming a major international drawcard, with more than 35 000 riders tackling the 109km route.

The question of course is whether the distraction of a vibrating seat cover could be hazardous on busy roads.

I'm not sure anyone will be wanting to use the Happy Ride seat cover for The Argus itself, but it will certainly make the training more exciting, adds Masche.

My wife still giggles about something I said about her after we split.

"For nine years of marriage, I couldn't get the ***** on a bike; now you can't get her off one."

She's bike-mad now. May be bad advice, but if you want to get her on a bike, divorce her.

Tried out of good manners. Thank goodness it didn't work.

I already have to sleep with her, imagine having to ride with her as well.
