- what time you finished your first lap in

- what time you finished your second lap in

Kudos to all of you that managed this especially with the wind

and it goes without saying that this includes FRAIL since he probably did a lap before the start anyways HAHA...cause he is a MACHINE !!!

Started in D, had a technical at the bottom of Suikerbossie ended in 3h08m. Started with OE the 2nd time round, had 3 beers, 2 massages, 1 tequila, lots of pictures and great conversation...must've been close to the last man over the line before cut-off, completely worth it in the end!

Started B did 2:56.. Started in the last batch second time, and did a easy 4:06.. Loved the racing in B but the second lap was gr8 to just enjoy the vibe!

in general the second lappers were quite well behaved, helped out on the climbs and made the day more enjoyable. Good call by the orginisers to allow riders to do this legally.

I saw that on endomondo, I was shaking my head, he is a machine, was telling my boss about it today. Tough as nails you people are.

I saw that on endomondo,

Heard quite a few endomondo aunties talking while cruising up the climbs on the 2nd lap...

Pulled a few people along in the wind, stopped at a number of water points, stopped for selfies along the route, wanted to help with punctures but only saw mtb punctures, had a puncture on Chappies when some hero from F doing his second lap pushed me onto a cat-eye in his hurry to break sub-whatever on his second lap, had a minor crash on Suikerbossie when a girl fell on me trying to dodge a drunk spectator. Finished with a heroic time of 5h20m. Will try harder next year to break that 6h00 mark.

Got to agree Gluvs. Most of the guys doing second laps were great and did not put any pressure or cause undue stress. You could see they were riding with friends and enjoying themselves and taking it all in.

There were 3 that stuck out as twits. One guy with A88(something) number pulling an 0E rider, yelling at everyone to keep left. Let me say that for most of the riders with double letters on their backs, going up Smits is tough enough for them, let alone expect them to do it in a straight line, let alone ask them to move out the way. The uphill road becomes a free for all and no one owns it with double letters as it is just about getting to the top in one piece. It is just a case of survive to the top and then when they can breath they sort out the riding style. The other 2 were A and VA guys pushing a lady at super high speed near the end to get a good time, weaving and getting everyone to move out the way. Not cool.

I started in VA. Did a 2.57 after they kicked my ass on top of Smitswinkel. I can't only peddle at 130rpm for so long. Next year the 53x12 will make way for a 53x11

Went back to the car and had some pizza and steri stumpi. Got back to the start and started the second round with my dad in OE. He is 64 and did his first Argus this year. We did it in 5.39. This was more special than any sub 3. This was also the first time I stopped at water points. Do they have food at these points or just drinks? There was nothing to eat when we got there.

Magical moments, man.

Very cool.

There are a couple that do have something to eat, but usually only choc bars or banana's. Next time take some chow with you! Great job on getting Dad to do it at 64 !

I had enough food to get me through, but my dad got bored in the starting pin and ate his banana and jungle bar before he started! He only had gels to get him through, but if you ride for 5 hours you need real food.

I started in A and finished with 2:52, shot off to my car to change my wheels from 23-12(I hate the 12, was sitting at 127 cadence to keep up with group after smits) to a 30-11 that came on another bike :P

This change was a great call as I found that with crampy legs lots of cadence helped recover in first half of course.

My mate and I pushed people up the hills, gave away lots of our food (not sure how far he thought the second lap was going to be!), we stopped and checked out the toilet facilities, met the wife on smits winkel where we had another picnic, stopped along misty cliffs to give someone a toob and a help change tyre.

We then met some more 2 lappers on suikerbosie and my competitive spirit kept kicking in and dropping my mate. (just a fyi, we beat the other 2 to top of suikerbosie :o )

Was a lot of fun, the friend that did it with me had not cycled since burger as was overseas so was great catching up and hearing how cold the UK is.

Some pics

Not sure the order as on tapatalk app, but in there somewhere, us at start, stop at Simons town, a police escort :P, a pic with lance Armstrong, a selfie, view of misty cliffs and some shots around the place.

$ group 1st lap time 2:47:11(31st ACT and 22nd sub3 hours)

Last groups 2nd lap time 5:49:32 (result to be confirmed). Rode with my sister who did it for the 1st time - my arm were more sore than my legs by the end! (32nd ACT and 1st over 5 hours!)

Do I have the biggest time difference?
