Hairy I agree that the best place to start is with our children. Education. Look at the mothers of a nation to know the state of a nation. Everyone is looking out for themselves today, I do to, numero uno, that's me. But that will not make me stop spreading awareness. If I get bikejacked on the spruit for example, I should warn my fellow cyclists by all means available to me, not keep quiet about it. If cyclists get mowed down like flies, should we keep quiet about it or should we not attempt to find a solution, create awareness, even if it's not that significant at all. Some of us don't want to wait for the next generation to fix the problems we created. One life out of a million is insignificant to some, to others it's not.

I agree with you.

The children are the future and my comment of for now we have to look towards ourselves sums up what you have just said.

Be the change is the catch phrase then I imagine.

RE the mothers comment, I like what you are saying there and it shows in my kids too .... recon that my wife is doing a great job .... anyway I will remind her this Thursday when we celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary ... a little off topic, but I am really excited about this that I share it at any opportunity that I can.

did they put it in the box, seal it and confiscate it for 24hours?

damn effective technique, really spreads the story.

They did not... think mostly because in both cases, the phone was not actually in my hands but as they say "I was using the mobile device". One flippen ticket actually states: "holding phone while driving"...

AND THIS MAN SPEAKS FROM EXPERIENCE, did anything ever come from your accident???

Cops are useless Dips. We are now seeking a civil claim.

Apart from the issue of driving into a cyclist, what kind of person leaves the scene? Clearly the driver is unconcerned with the fact that the cyclist may need urgent assistance.

Altered state / intoxicated state.

Easy, I reckon.

The driver might not even be aware that there was a collision.

Too idealistic. Our roads are getting more dangerous and the only thing that could make a difference is a drastic political change so that law enforcement could be strict and effective. I do not believe a person should have to risk their life for their sport. This is why I gave up road cycling, these roads/drivers are just too dangerous.

Ok, so you are suggesting the world is no place for idealists but rather a home to cowards who should never stand up for what they believe in.

He was hit by a car. The witness did not get the number plate. However, another couple earlier saw this guy riding very recklessly and then took a picture of his number plates so he will be reeled in soon enough.

Maybe we should go to the court when this guy needs to appear - I wanna see what he looks like and hear what he has to say.

I also believe we need stricter laws in terms of when nightclubs need to close. They should close by midnight by law. This will mean everyone have to go home. Bloem also needs roadblocks as we NEVER have any.... People aren't afraid to drive drunk here.

People leaving a club at 5AM is a danger on the road especially for cyclists.

Just look at how many robots / lamp poles / cars / lives get destroyed close to the 2 most prominent night clubs in Bloemfontein

I really agree with, go there and ask this guy face to face what his story is
