20 years after the first democratic vote for all South African's and we're still asking the question...

I think we can, but they are all on different teams. Can't get them all together?

No matter what, Politics don't ever belong in Sport, Finish and klaar!!! Not getting into the racial side of the argument I just believe that the day politics get involved in sport, that is the day that sport no longer represents to abilities of a nation / province / side / school / club!

Depends a lot on his definition of "Black", I have a lot of staff who are no longer "Black enough" for the department of Labour, will riders like Nolan Hoffman be "Black enough" for Fikile Mbalula ?

" Failure to implement the new quotas would result in withdrawal of any form of funding and support to federations and sport bodies, he said "

What funding is Cycling receiving from them at the moment ?

Dunno, but he could perhaps influence the Lotto funding . . . .

He cant pot pressure on Lotto to reduce funding, it dried up some time back, the little they have supplied get used to pay CSA/PPA legal fees, not to fund riders.

Known for his flowing speaking style,[13] Mbalula has several times made headlines with controversial statements.

In June 2007 he likened the University of KwaZulu-Natal to Bombay, saying black students were left on the periphery while those of Indian descent swelled the ranks.[14]

In December 2007, amid rising tensions in the run-up to the ANC's Polokwane conference, Mbalula wrote a letter to finance minister Trevor Manuel calling him arrogant and an "attention-seeking drama queen". This followed Manuel dismissing Mbalula as a "self-appointed spokesperson of the national democratic revolution".[15]

In April 2008 Mbalula said that Barney Pityana, rector of the University of South Africa had "made a clown of himself by his overzealous confusion and comical postulations" after Pityana expressed criticism of Zuma.

In January 2014, after Bafana Bafana were eliminated in the first round from the CHAN competition, Mbalula said that the national team were "a bunch of losers".[16][17]
