awesme Posted June 11, 2014 Share Sore throat started 3 weeks ago, got to side step it Friday before last, Wednesday was good, Friday going out on ride good, getting back to car/crappy. Then it hit me, ended on Anti biotics, upper chest infection, throat infection, etc etc. Been dosing myself with ACC200, Cal C Vita, Coronza-C, Med Lemon, Sinutab for the nose. starting to feel better, hmmm guess Sunday's past ride was not the best idea but what the hell, will see how I feel after this evenings ride. blondeonabike Posted June 11, 2014 Share I've not been lekker since late friday/saturday last week, head cold sore throat the works..... So I've only been riding six months now, and have waited for the chance to do a local ride "the rollercoaster" Basically its the nastiest 45km ride you can imagine riding up and down between the top of a krantz and the valley bellow. The views are worth the pain. So lately my cycling has really come on and I'm strong enough to enjoy it........and when do my mates organise to ride it? Saturday of course So saturday comes.....hubby goes for the ride (friggin adultery!!!) and I'm left watching the pitiful offerings on T.v!!! The blondeonabike became the crabby blondeonacouch!!Finally feeling a bit better today.....I dont know how much more of this I can handle.... Max001 Posted June 11, 2014 Share Touch wood the cold has not gotten me yet, had a slight head cold.I do have slightly bigger problem, I had to get a femoral hernia repair last year and I picked up a sports hernia in the groin this past weekend, I believe it can heal with rest.Problem is I have no rest till the end of the month, I have been training furiously for the past five months and only missed 3 classes at the dojo, I will have to hold thumbs this heals .listen bud. idont want to be the bearer of bad news but I also had a groin hernia and thought it would heal on its own but they don't. I suffered for two years and then when the pain got to bad I reluctantly went for the op. took 6 week recovery of the bike and now back in the saddle as if it never happened. its a day procedure and well worth it!! Flippa Posted June 11, 2014 Share I'm also suffering from the dreaded lurgy, since last Friday, to be exact. Hoping to shrug it off by the weekend, gives me a further week's recovery before Dusi2c.

flat29 Posted June 11, 2014 Share have been sick for 10 weeks. Little one started crèche this year so we get all the flu. Was tempted to sell my bike ad call it quits. Started training Monday again. Even lost out on a free entry to joburg2C because of the flu.

BarHugger Posted June 11, 2014 Share HUBSTERS PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOURSELF: Although exercise at MODERATE intensity can actually relief symptoms and aid in the healing process (those irritating head colds) please use your common sense and consult the specialists. Case in point (less than a week ago): A 39-year-old runner who collapsed in the final stretch of the Comrades Marathon has died in hospital.http://www.sowetanli...-after-collapsehttp://www.sport24.c...Durban-20140610http://www.enca.com/...r-dies-hospital 228946719-The-Beautiful-Feet-of-LOUIS-DU-PREEZ.pdf PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOURSELF! Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted June 11, 2014 Share Little one had a head cold that was passed to us last week, he now has a bit of bronchitis that I'm treating him for. Again, this will be passed to us as well. These next few weeks will be trying, cos he's also in creche... and we all know what virus-pits those are!! I hear you, saw the doc and they did the diagnosis, fortunately it's nit femoral or hiatus, the femoral I had on the left side didn't hurt as bad as this. They call it a "sport hernia" and reckon it's a small tissue tear that can heal within a week of taking things easy. Now I just need to find a way to take things easy. The op I has last week had me on the bike within 9 days, the mesh they put in took some getting used to.
