Who is doing the mtb race on the 5th and the road race on the 6th?

Nice challenge for next year. It will help with the motivation for winter training and will be nice change of scenery from mtb and road tne next day.

I am going to have to drop from the 80km to the 50km :-(

Started the year with a thumb injury, just got back on the bike and tore my calf muscle, back on the bike and then got bronchitis which last for almost 2 months. Have hardly ridden my bike this year.

Used to do the road race on the Sunday, but got sick and tired of riding past mtbers with huge smiles on their races after riding Harkerville while I am struggling into a head wind.

Is it possible to change there at registration?

I am also planning to do the 80 and then the 100 the next day............part of prep for the TB but see the 80 is a real tough ride according to profile.............

The 80km mtb race is an awesome route. The worst however is the first 2 climbs. The first climb being right at the start starting after only about 5km (but it's on tar and steep), then a nice long and cold decent and then when you least expect it, bam, one heavy, steep, long climb. From there is is beautiful. Climbs all being steady and with good surfaces. Probably the best race route i've ridden.

I managed to ride all the way up the climbs last year except for 1 steep corner.

If I can ride up the climbs then it is not too bad :-)

The surface is good on the first few climbs which makes it a lot easier.

The 2nd half is dependant on weather and whether they have been doing some tree felling (makes for soft sand / mud).

The 80km is 100 times better than the 50km. Hoping for a miracle that my fitness magically returns.
