Do you do squads?

Recommended Posts

Do you add weight training to your cycling?

If so - how often do you do squads, and what % of your body weight do you push?

Absolutely yes, and various other leg excercises including lunges and calf raises. I squat half my body weight. When I still did bodybuilding I could squat 200kg, but those tree trunks you wil get as legs wont help your cycling. It really makes a big difference to your fitness. I do legs once a week, on a Tuesday, gives me time to recover after my weekend rides, and also leaves Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to recover before my weekend ride.

A bigger fridge helps so that you don't have to squat so low; better for your back and knees

Do you mean like a "Squad of Cheerleaders"? If yes, then I would feel obliged to.

Absolutely right, it is your duty and someone has to.

Chris Hoy was a big fan of them... his trainer? Not so much.

That's a leg press, has nothing to do with a squad.
