My 2c. I would rather buy 2 china frames and built them and enjoy the other R100k with the wife. At the end of the day, your friends arent going to turn your frame upside down to look for a serial number. Only you will know. And if it rides as nice as you like, why not.

No problem in buying a china frame and enjoying it. Pretending it is the real thing as you suggest is both illegal and a sad reflection on the purchaser.

I think the problem with the bike prices is the cyclists (some of us). There are people who will pay those crazy prices. If nobody buys a bike over 20-30k, then they have no reason to make the bikes so expensive and the prices will drop.

 

This is only my theory.
