Datsun 180U SSS

Affectionately known as the "Cripple Es".   Was fairly quick though for it's age.....

And then that got replaced later by a 1600 Stanza Station Wagon.  With a hot cam, a MAUS flowed head, twin Hitachi's and a 5-speed reverse-H gearbox.

And a curtain in the back window

White 1972 Fiat 125

First new car my dad ever bought and stayed in the family. Drove it for my first year through varsity.

1.6 double overhead cam pushing about 70kW to the back wheels.

Was stock standard when I started driving it around 1996 apart from the carb (replaced the solex with a lekker weber.

I loved that car...

After Varsity got a yellow ford escort 1600. Loved that thing. Mate had a mazda 323 hatch, that was also fun to drive.

Funny, the mini and the 323 are two cars I would not mind owning today

ah man with the square bonnet !

Yip. I Can't find a pic of it right now but it was this exact shape. Not a GT, the standard model with 10 inch steel rims and chrome hub caps.

'93 Opel Kadett Cub 1.4 that I got in '98

Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk

1984 BMW 320i that I appropriated from my dad in '95 or '96 after my motorbike packed up.  He owned a motor workshop and somehow ended up with the car through that. Body work was a complete dog - rusting, duct tape over holes in the roof, one door didn't open, trim missing etc. but the engine and chassis were in good nick... Was an absolute beaut to drive!

My first car was a 1982 model Audi 5S.  Was a brilliant car.  Served me well before written off by someone who did not quite understand the concept of red traffic lights.
