You see i have a mate who insist on arriving fully clothed and then dipping his finger in the tub of cream and rubbing it on his nether regions. I go crazy when he wants to double dip. Then he rubs the sun block on. I always try and ride up wind of him until we all smell the same.... Me i do it before the shorts are on - smear layers on the shorts/chamois, bull the bibs over the shoulders and squeeze everything in to place, without having to contact unwashed nether regions. Who likes getting into the nooks and crannies of the butt crack with one hand ? I reckon hes not the only one that has this fetish. I gave him my last jar of bum cream on our last MTB excursion when he double dipped once too many times in the morning and left a couple of curlys in there. I wasn't going to use it again.

Think im going to try it out before the ride. The Assos just seems to over priced.I have like 20 tubs of a variety of chamois creams from freebies at races - sure I can find a couple for you if you want to experiment..

SwissVan Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Some think Assos chamois creme is expensive... its cheaper than some others commonly available in local bike shops Assos costs about Chf 18.50 here in switz Ozone saddle creme = Chf 24or the current stuff i'm using Sensolar saddle creme = Chf 20 All the above in 150ml tub or tubes Multiply that by 11.8 to get Ronds

LegsEleven Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 So.. finally bought a tub of the stuff, Marks II from cycle lab. Did a 50km ride today and I can't say it made any difference for that length of ride. I was wearing a pair of brand new Assos bibs and they were super comfy so i think i might need to try out the stuff on a pair of older shorts, as well on a longer ride. P.S Assos make an incredible pair of bibs, I'm a fan, even though my wallet is not.
