Postal Strike?

I have a parcel thats being held at customs in Cape Town.... helps me faark all since Im here in JHB.

They send me a notification letter to my address here in JHB, whooppee!

How the hell do I get it from Capemail to JHB, I have a local tracking number now and the parcel is sitting at customs.

I call the number(s) on the Foreign Parcel Notification that was sent to me and all of them either ring endlessly or some piece of afterbirth that "works" there picks up the phone and hangs it up :cursing:

Anyone got any ideas for me?

a while back i was waiting for a parcel - also during one of the many strikes and the online tracking facility showed it to be still at the central sorting - I sent an email via their website, someone actually got back to me and it turned out the parcel was at my local post office, just that no one had bothered to update the status because they were on strike. Worth a shot? Maybe?

Just received my parcel today, been 2 months. I use http://www.17track.net/en/ and find it has much better updates than the sapo site! It said the package was ready for pickup, but sapo still had it as being at the int mail center!!

Hey, mine says the same. How did you determine which PO it was sent to?

I received a notification via mail but PO tracker said it was still in JHB Mail

Phone the post office branch it was supposed to be sent to and ask them to check

If worst case i can fetch you and use someone else to post or courier to you?

Based on the postal code you shipped it to. Certain branches cover specific postal codes.

Best would be to check with your local one.

As Will Farrell said "I immediately regret this decision" ordered CRC gear, took the bloody parcelforce option and here we go. Two hoops and other bits and pieces been stuck at Customs Joburg for 7 days.... No idea why, probably trying to figure out if 4 parts constitutes a whole bike on which they can klap me with duties, rather than zero on parts.

Ps: they are in kahoots with Telkom, as phones are obvioysly paperweights in those offices.....

DHL was not any better either. My order came 4 days late, and I spent a pretty penny on DHL. I made a little noise, DHL waved the customs charge and CRC payed me back a 24 pounds for inconvenience

"We regret to inform you, Your tracking number was not found, Possible reasons:....."

F%#k that person with the sticky fingers!

Funny thing is, is that it is totally and utterly useless for anyone bar myself or another Subaru XV owner who has the exact same after-market speakers.

I'm in the same boat....  Parcel was shipped on the 2 September from China. According to SAPO Customer Services, my package is currently sitting in a container at the JHB International Mail Centre waiting to be processed due to the backlog caused by the strike....

F'n brilliant.... So much for beating the Christmas rush....
