Mojoman Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 From the Krugersdorp NewsA group of Krugersdorp SA Post Office employees were sent packing for acts of vandalism during unlawful strikes at the local depot. The news forwarded a photo to the Post Office’s communication division showing mail items scattered on the ground outside the depot, as well as damaged infrastructure.Communication officer Johan Kruger later responded that an investigation had been launched and that as a result the employees responsible were dismissed from their duties.“The acts of vandalism called for immediate dismissal as well as criminal charges being laid with the police,” he says.Kruger assures that the depot is fully operational after vandalised infrastructure were repaired. He also added that the strike involving casual and part-time employees at the SA Post Office has come to an end and the company has resumed operations in the affected areas.“We regret the inconvenience that the strike has caused customers, and assure them that the SA Post Office management, with the support of all stakeholders, including the Minister and our labour partners, are working tirelessly to restore operations back to full capacity,” chief operations officer Mlu Mathonsi reiteratedhttp://krugersdorpnews.co.za/242857/post-office-employees-dismissed-for-vandalism/
MrJacques Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Glad the strike is over. Good that they fired the vandals. Tracking website still doesn't work, but it was always a bit iffy.

Their service is pathetic. Rather pay the extra and use an alternative courier company.

Use postnet...R99 up to 5kg I heard on the radio that the post office is estimating up to 3 week backlog to catch up...and i think that excludes additional work coming in....gonna be a long wait

Just what I was thinking. Is the R50 or R100 you save by using them worth the wait and the possibility that the useless buggers go on strike and your parcel grows legs and disappears because they just get rid of the backlog and don't send them out like happened to me in the Feb strikes.
Stretch Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 in America and act that like you would be charge with sabotage and it would be federal #justsaying
Pikey Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Bloody useless lazy git's,want more money but don't want to work anyway even if they had a 100% increase. I want my friggin handlebars . Must rather use post net R99 2to 3 days up to 2kgs.
FondyMig Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I try not use them at all. Their service is pathetic. Rather pay the extra and use an alternative courier company.I ordered goods from Chainreaction and thought I would score with their free shipping option. I've been waiting 4 weeks for a saddle for a new build and can't get any reliable feedback from the P.O.This was the last time, in future I'll rather pay the additional costs for courier delivery.
