What cyclist earns 1 bar a month? Do you just want to know for 1 bike? I have 2 road bikes, 2 mtbs, 2 tandems and a SS road bike build on the go. That's excluding the wives bikes.

You have wives?...or did you mean "wife's" ☺

I don't bother to keep account of how much I spend on bike stuff, there is only 24 hrs in a day of which +/- 8.5 hrs is work, +/- 7hrs is sleep time that leaves (grabs calculator) 8.5 hrs...what's the point in wasting time keeping track of how much you spend on your hobbies?

Hi Guys

Riding a bike of 100k for someone that earn 1bar is the same as 1k bike for someone that earns 10k.

So would like to see how much guys spend on their bikes in relation to their salary per month.

NB if I have done this wrong ,I do apologise .Its my first attempt.

Buying a bike is not a monthly activity so measuring it against monthly salary is a bit misleading.

I think a better question is to ask what proportion of a person's annual disposable income i.e. after taxes, rental/mortgage repayments, transport costs(car repayments, petrol, train and bus fare, etc), household expenses(including security, telephone, food, insurances, W&L and R&T), education, structured long term savings, etc. is spent on bicycles.

What cyclist earns 1 bar a month?

I am sure a number do.

Or, if the question is how many people who earn 12 bar a year ride bicycles, I am again sure quite a few do.

I'm sure if you took certain factors about one life situation in to account, this is probably very predictable.

E.g. some one who is single and no kids is likely to have alot more disposable income than the guy who is marred with kids, and the wife does not work.

Packet of smokes = R30 x 30 = R900
R900 x 12 months = R10,800
5 years smoke free in Jan = R54,000
I havent spent that (all of it anyway...!) but thats my logic behind what I spend on bikes.

Its money I would have wasted on ciggies so rather spend it on better health.

So someone out there spent over twice their annual income on a bike? Really?

Someone probably did but I think this was before the poll changed from monthly to annually!
