I've been dealing with Action Cycling for the past two years and always rated their service up until an hour ago - Marco's last words to me today: "Get the f#ck out of my shop and never come back" - That after I paid him R1,200 for a fork and headset service last week!!!

Sure Marco, I will do that and yes I will never be back.  Just last week I still recommended someone to go there - Guess what, I will not be doing that anymore.

Whatever the merits, I don't see any accusations, slander in the OP's post.

I too owned businesses and I don't believe one ever has the right to swear at a customer.

There are better, more civilised, ways of dealing with obnoxious customers.

This chop Is trying to get people all worked up and thinks that he is going to make people not like Marko and not go there. Maybe he is trying to start a following of people and call it "People against Marko".

The accusation, and thus the LIBEL is implied when, as the OP did, conveyed the situation without full disclosure. The OP failed to fully describe his own actions thus creating the impression he did absolutely nothing wrong. This by extension means only Marco was at fault in using foul language. This in my view, is diabolical, and very much worthy of the scorn expressed in this thread against the OP's modus operandi.

For the sake of previously mentioned disclosure, Action Cycling is my preferred LBS. I've had my differences with them as well, but I personally didn't go on a mission to publicly assassinate someone's character by deliberate omission of context.

I wonder if the 'hub's respons' would've been different if it were another bike shop?

You mean like a shop that was not good at being their for people when you need them or willing to help you out in a pinch

Kinda like that. Shows the brand value that has been built up over many years. Fortunately people don't always take posts like this at face value.

I don't think so.

Can't see any magistrate being swung by this argument.

No chance of one of the shop supporters getting the story behind the story? May help to clear up the uncertainty that has now been created .....

(yes it is Friday and it would help to up the ante a bit   )

this is not a case for the wigged ones to begin with, and my argument is not for court approval. Its my perspective on where the OP is deviating from an honest presentation of fact. No one here can agree with his insinuation that Marco was unprovoked without more detail, detail he is deliberately withholding. It's pretty sketchy when someone is eager to only present the worst of a situation as long as it doesn't reflect on him/herself. Classy.

Not unless his point is that a business owner should never swear at a customer, regardless of provocation, which he inferred himself by saying I have my story he has his. I wait with baited breathe to hear the full story

The old 'customer is always right' motto is far too often used by complete planks to justify their own stupid actions.

I'm not advocating a Basil Fawlty approach to customer care but every so often a customer pushes it too far and then gets all high and mighty when they get a reaction.

Can someone please explain why people think that they are being sworn AT when someone uses a swear word in a sentence ?

“Eina Fo$” is an expression of pain……not directed at someone

“get the F@#$ out of …” is telling you to leave current location

Now this is swearing AT you/someone

“F@#$ You” Now that is swearing AT you/someone

“F@#$ off”

“F@#$ing idiot”

Where is the grammer police? Help us out.

Im not saying the customer is always right, far from it in most cases. What I am saying is part of running a business is dealing with d1ckhead customers some of the time. Im sure we all have it at some point but I would be in a heap of crap if I swore at a customer (or colleague) even if they were 1000% in the wrong. I don't know the LBS or the writer
