canfan Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I use it sometimes, but really couldn't be to bothered if I forget to switch it on.
floatfox Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I use my garmin 510, linked to strava. Automatically uploads to strava.
RockCoach Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The early days was all about seeing if you were faster than your buddies but I like using it as a log these days. Even then I had no problem logging a slow base ride. I also use it to track component wear thus if I forget to turn it on I enter the ride manually. My buddies laugh at my 7km rides in 2 hours when I teach a skills course and forget to make it private.
shaper Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Don't use it, all info I need is on my garmin connect once uploaded.
Catatonic_Joe Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I use Endomondo while I'm riding, cos I started using it when I started cycling, and like to compare my fitness levels when I just started compared to now. But after my ride I export my workouts to Strava... so I use both. Not really in the league of getting KOM's, but love the challenge of trying to being my previous records.
nox1111 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I use it all the time - and also as a service guideline for drivetrain and shock. The hours and km's that gets logged is pretty accurate, so easy to log service intervals on parts based on that.
Long Wheel Base Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 No need for Premium. Open Garmin, save all activities to desktop(or any file), open Strava and load activities(copy paste), you can only transfer 25 at a time. DoneYou can also just log into strava with the garmin plugged in. Select upload and it uploads all new activities.
Patensie Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Haven't had a bike computer/gps device on any ride in the last 6/7 years. Prefer to take along some coffee, stop along the way and enjoy the scenery. KOM = mtb rim by WTB
EZRider Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Haven't had a bike computer/gps device on any ride in the last 6/7 years. Prefer to take along some coffee, stop along the way and enjoy the scenery. KOM = mtb rim by WTB Always seem to burn my chin drinking coffee on the bike.
Jigghead Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I use Garmin Connect to send directly to Strava, so me and my mates can check each other's routes etc. Not everyone uses a Garmin, so it's a good way to have all in one place. I don't even know where my segments start and finish, so it's for the social benefit as opposed to chasing my times!
EmptyB Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Upload all my rides via Garmin Connect. Great for recording your training, total km's per month etc etc. Don't care for segments!
Frosty Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If you're doing the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic, join the Strava club... http://www.strava.com/clubs/124080 Events added to the Strava site: 165Km - Elite & U23 Men only 125Km - Vets 30-39, Vets 40-49 and Junior men only 103Km - Mass participant event 65Km - Mass participant event
J∆kk∆ls Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I leave my phone and my Garmin at home and just go for a data-less ride
Stricker Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Would be cool if THEhub had a Strava club dashboard thing on the forum.Just like its got on the Strava site but on HUB site. And then some give aways for the top 3 every month. Like:Most KM riddenMost KM ClimbedLongest ride ... Winners can receive:Hub branded -water bottles, Caps, T shirts , discount vouchers from sponsors ..Etc Etc All just to make cycling even more interesting
SteveJhb Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Still experimenting and trying things out, and I am using both Strava and Endomondo at the moment. I am liking that I can see where other riders have ridden in my area for ideas and inspiration.
