I saw the guys working on clearing the roadside veg up there last week. There are fire breaks and its not like they haven't dealt with it before. Good luck to them, I'm hopeful they can get it under control.. and I prefer to stay positive right now!

There is no wind currently, which is a positive.  Hopefully the fire breaks will do it's job.

Was there unfortunately, started about 200m from the stone pump house just after the first concrete bridge; i spotted it from the top of the single track at fire hut and chased down; went right down to it; at that stage it literally was the size of a large bonfire and in the middle of nowhere, no trails or tracks leading to where it started.... By the time I got to the gate, the alien vegetation guys were already coming past and fire truck pulling out. Did the contour climb from there, by the time we reached the top there was a spotter plane, water dropper plabe and two choppers goin at it. It did jump the road and burning the mid section between the river and middle contour- luckily the pines and fynbos there is pretty scarce and was burned last year, so think they should wrap this up pretty quickly..... Hoping

I dunno man, if you ask me those fires are CGI and not real...

Sorry man, had to make do with what I can as my high earth orbit real time high magnification heat sensing photo satellite is still repositioning from the other side of the planet.. ;)

Pardon my ignorance but how far is jonkershoek from where the previous fires were?
