As i was just saying to NSBB in a whatsapp conversation (yup, the man has his finger on the pulse of modern technology, and these 'apps'), I'm sure they're going all Augusty on us and requiring that you need a timing tsip to get into the pens.

So, to minimise any risk of my lap 1 win/result being obscured by having a chip on for lap 2, I'll enter my lap 2 pen with it on, then go over the mats with it in my armpit, then pop it in my pocket/camelpack...

NSBB is totally tech savvy I'm sure! Are you in VA for lap 1? If so, hang on for dear life, its going to hurt.

Best tip for me doing this race with little or no training at all...help !!

When Wendy did her first 94.7 she'd had never ridden the distance before. This plan got her through the first race:

1) You have to work to get up the hills. No option, but slow and steady is best.

2) On the flat just tick along. Not too much effort.

3) Roll down every hill possible to conserve energy.

Stop and drink at at least half the water points.

You should be finished by Tuesday . . . .

I thank you for what i'm accepting as a compliment on my youthful look and exuberance...

I know its not very obvious to the untrained eye, but am however a year too old for the lighties in VA.

I will be duking it out with the much easier VB on Sunday...

Only saw the back of you on Sunday but then again I am many years older.

Enjoy the race, I'll be watching on from the comfort of VE. Don't think it gets any easier.

Marking the first 40km as a KOM Strava.

Last year was 1:08.

Lets see if we can beat that.  :w00t:  :w00t: :w00t:
