Little Fish Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Just last weekend I almost ran over a 2m long monitor lizard as I started the red trail at Heia. A little pee came out. Ja this outdoor activity stuff has its risks....last weekend we were at Groot Marico with the hounds & my little girl went diving into the bush next to the track we were on, I dived down to grab her collar thinking she may hurt a lizzard or something & found myself face to tail with a puffadder It took me a few split seconds to realize what it was, as I havent seen one before & its tail was so fat i thought it was a monitor liard or something, then Smolly heard it hiss & screamed at me.Couldve ended very badly - was freaked out afterwards.

Jeepers! Hectic stuff. On the same ride, while at Avianto, I came across three loose dogs. Two of which got quite ballsy with me. Every time I started pedaling down the trail, the two would start snapping at my heels. Had to stop, get off my bike and chase the bastards away. The mammals I can handle, but reptiles... ooh eh eh. No snakes and the like for me.

I would love to hear full details of this, was the buffalo dead before Andrew crashed into it? or did it die with the thought of fourways traffic ahead...

No snakes and the like for me. Just out of curiosity, what does one do when faced with snakes, say you in a trail in snake smack bang in the middle? Drive into bush? Brake and turn around if possible? Try to pass it?
