Monark Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I don't think it's over priced at all if one considers the spec of the builds. Some serious parts on the bike! In this price range it's competition is the yeti and a properly spec'ed santa c. JXV and Hairy 2
Jaco-fiets Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) I am sorry but bikes like the cannondale and specialized are proven on the world stage. I am sure the bike is great but if it does not break mainstream there is no way it will be perceived in the same pedigree and price tag is the expensive brands. To me this is one of those bikes that should grow on me. Don't like it at 1st glance. It is probably like my Mazda bakkie! When it 1st came out I thought to myself "you will not catch me dead in one of those". Now IÂ drive one and love it Edited June 6, 2015 by Jaco-fiets Johny Bravo and linuxlg 2
Steven Knoetze (sk27) Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Just as an example, the wheelset constitutes R30K of the price looking at the cost of PYGA rims and hubs bandied around. You could build a Novatec\light bicycle rimmed wheelset for a third of that money. I agree, IMO it is overpriced for a bike with very little "proof" behind it. Let a few pro's show what it's capable of and then it might justify the price, otherwise for the same money you could have a YT Capra, Canyon Spectral, Level The Following, etc, with very similar specs, in some cases even better. Odinson and Bizkit031 2
Bizkit031 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hells bells they smoking some strong socks to justify those prices they clearly gunning for the big boys, I would rather build a Evil The Following. It would definitely be more unique then the Pyga. Steven Knoetze (sk27), linuxlg and Odinson 3
Odinson Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I think its time people start supporting this awesome brand, yes its expensive but its a top of the range bike, not everyone will be able to afford it but its so often the same people moaning that its so expensive that are the people riding the carbon copy S-WORKS . What is that supposed to mean?
Vanzyl Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 What is that supposed to mean?Means exactly what i said, s-works followers in the thousands, so theres more than enough people who can afford this bike. But changing the minds of those followers might be Pyga's first problem.

Rick Sanchez Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Great looking bike. It's expensive, but what do S-Works go for nowadays? And you could probably bring down the price with your own build kit. Vanzyl 1
flyluis Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 If this is expensive, what does a cheaper top end full carbon bike cost? skipperw, Rick Sanchez, Hairy and 1 other 4
werner1619 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 MTB prices in general have increase way too much. In my opinion this is due to the high interest in MTB. ( demand )However, as with any area or industry, it will slow and the bike prices will come down as the market becomes saturated. The quantity of second hand bikes for sale is a indication that the market has past the peak and is stable and might see a downward trend soon.( this is just my opinion ) Regarding the bike, Looks awesome and would love to give it a test ride.Nothing like a test ride to convince those in the market  :-)GLWS Rick Sanchez 1

Like it or not, its a race winning bike.  And at this stage, spec vs spec, Specialized is a lot cheaper than this. the nerd and Odinson 2

What do you classify as race geo then because a far as I'm concerned 68.5 never use to be race geo and more trail geo. niterider 1

Having another bottle cage within the frame is great for stage racing but congrats on the camelbak. Whether its your style bike or not its still great to support a local brand and local support.
