News bot Posted June 5, 2015 Share In late April PYGA INDUSTRIES announced the launch of their first carbon fibre, full suspension marathon bike at the opening of their new Cape Town offices. Dubbed the Stage, the 29" bike is designed as an out and out race machine, with Pyga’s signature twist on geometry. Spoke101 Posted June 5, 2015 Share What's the rear travel on the Max? From what I have heard 135mm or 137mm depending on a little tweak. niterider

NicoBoshoff Posted June 6, 2015 Share So the ZAR exchange rate isn't an excuse here, yet the pricing is very "continental". What am I missing? Natural collusion? Market indicating pricing loud and clear? Brawler, IH8MUD, Bizkit031 and 4 others
SiriS Posted June 6, 2015 Share So the ZAR exchange rate isn't an excuse here, yet the pricing is very "continental". What am I missing? Natural collusion? Market indicating pricing loud and clear? Why is the ZAR rate not relevant? I'd guess mostly euro/dollar based inputs to produce + smaller volume production = fairly pricey result. Johny Bravo Posted June 6, 2015 Share Nice bike, but the pricing is off. Fat bankers will enjoy this bike for sure. Bizkit031
DJuice Posted June 6, 2015 Share Do not think it is so expensive compaired to a Scalpel2. @ R63 500 without carbon hoops. Please show pictures of the gloss white and matt charcoal, for us that is a bit reserved on colour. Not that I can afford, but one can dream. PhilipV Posted June 6, 2015 Share So the ZAR exchange rate isn't an excuse here, yet the pricing is very "continental". What am I missing? Natural collusion? Market indicating pricing loud and clear?I think the ZAR/$ plays a huge role. Frame is manufactured in Taiwan, all the components come from Asia as well. R&D and building is local. And they most definitely don't manufacture the same volume as the big boys, so they can't leverage on scale either. skipperw and Spoke101

Vanzyl Posted June 6, 2015 Share I think its time people start supporting this awesome brand, yes its expensive but its a top of the range bike, not everyone will be able to afford it but its so often the same people moaning that its so expensive that are the people riding the carbon copy S-WORKS .
