I got the dreaded "Unsuccessful Application" mail. Do you think if you entered for this year's CTCT and then did not take part it would have counted against you?

I believe so, I also was unsuccessful, sad thing is I have done the last 5, but on my way Sunday morning to the start this year I was involved in an accident that prevented me to ride,  now what has become somewhat of a tradition of going down to CT and spending the Saturday with the kids at the junior tour is  down the drain,

I got a entry but haven't done a seeding race this year, and was hoping

not to. Does anybody know how many groups they will push me back if I done ride a seeding race. I have done about 13 including last year.

You should get a seeding based on the number you have completed if you have not competed in a seeding event prior to it. This is what they did for the 10+ completed competitors in the past.

I am in the same boat.

It Wasn't too bad - was about 8:15 am and now they have done away with the charity bunches possible even earlier.

To those of you that did not get an entry, just hang in there.

I suspect that there will be many people that entered the ballot that will not ride for various.

You may just get a follow up email in the weeks to come as these entries become available.

There will also be many substitutions later on as well.

Best of luck to everyone looking to get an entry.

Although it is a lottery based system, there is a weighing model build into it. The more tours and other seeded events you did, the better your chances of getting an entry. Everybody I know were successful. Everyone rode the last 5-7 years and one oke 11. Everyone also entered as a group (husband and wife), so I would think if you entered as a group that would also increase your chances.

Likewise I think that if you entered and didn't pitched, that you would get "penalised". It only seems fair. There is someone that would have love to rode in your place. I understand in your particular case it was beyond your control, but to mane people just don't pitched for simple reasons.

You can still do 94.7 or Stellenbosch tour ( Burger/ Sanlam) for a seeding.

Yeah, was kind of out of my control too, my wife had given birth to our first child a few days before and the Sunday was our first full day at home with him. Living in the South Peninsula there would have been 25 000 + cyclists in between me and her, so we decided it would be best for me to stay at home in case she needed help or support. Suppose one can't expect the Cycle Tour Trust to investigate each no show, but it kind of sucks that I am now being penalised for this.

Oh well, will have to wait for the second round or a substitution I guess....

Well congrats on the baby. I hope you get an entry with the 2nd round or substitution.

I can, but its a lot of bucks to spend to come up from PE just to be in a group or two better start. The days I used to ride is A, it would have been more important. As long as I don't get moved 3 or 4 groups back, but I just phoned them and they reckon I should start roundabout the same

group as last year.
