Stretch Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Ran my first week in my new puma speeds. Low heel drop and promotes front foot strike. Calves were tight after 4 runs.. But is a nice way to distribute load around my legs. Using them for short daily runs and then my support ASICS for the long run CobusV and shaper 2
Chris_ Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 How is everyone's training coming along? Maybe a cycle on Sat - although I'm a little shaken about the Cradle right now if I'm honest... Then 28km 'Mountain Monster' (!!) trail on Sunday, looking forward to getting out again, weathers made a nice turn
dave303e Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Had feet up all week, went for a wattbike session yesterday to loosen the lgs, will hit a hill session later and test the legs after weekend. Anyone else get serious case f the munchies post race? according to woolworths serving suggestions I am 4 - 6 people most weeks after a race... Andrew Steer and CobusV 2

SwissVan Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Puttering along and only jogging twice a week, said to wiff I must try increase to 3 times per week. My feet are worrying me and no running goal at the moment other than to cross train and keep fit. CobusV and Stretch 2
SeaBee Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I am currently blessed with a lovely thick head. Head cold/sinus/allergy/whatever... And sore-ish throat to go. Early morning runs doesn't help much, but... pffff... Running a 30 with a buddy on Sunday, first long run I can remember since Oceans! He dragged me into it - Somewhere in Simons Town, incl Red hill. Will be a first for me, so looking forward to it. Except for the early rise to get there from Paarl! ScottCM 1
Frosty Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 One more 10km run (Wanderers), then mostly cycle events... R4V, a ride from Germiston to Durban (incl. Amashova), CCMNC weekend, Tshwane Classic, Alberton 21Km and finally 947. shaper and Andrew Steer 2

Andrew Steer Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Finally sort of getting back into things... been taking it easy (like always, but trying to avoid any injuries) - got Wanderers 21km next week which should be interesting, and then doing the rest of the Vitality series chased up by a return to Run the Berg in Oct. If you guys want a nice goal I can seriously recommend it, it's good value and doable for even non trail runners. I think there are still some entries left, it does sell out...Also planning to do RFV and Satelite and then the 94.7 thing... might have to ride my bike I guess too at some pointWeather is looking up, feel much better about getting outdoors now - have a good weekend folks tjommies3, Chris_, Stretch and 1 other 4
Mats Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Im also still running and riding.Plan is to do R4VThen the 2 day cosmos trail run in clarensMaybe the satellite classicThen kaapsehoop 42 Stretch, ScottCM and Andrew Steer 3
dave303e Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Kaapsehoop is on the radar/calender for me as well, just so I have a marathon qualifier is I get the urge to become a 'real runner' next year... Sadly again it will be racing on back to back weekends with Full Moon the week before... Sometimes I envy pure runners, training must be so much more focused hey Andrew Steer 1
