Barry Stuart Posted November 11, 2018 Share First half done... not 100% 21.1km, but far enough. Great work, Frosty, and you nailed the sub-2 milestone on your first crack. Well done. Frosty
Frosty Posted November 11, 2018 Share And? How you feeling? Happy with your time?Happy? Of course. I did the race in 1:58:20, but kept my watch going until I thought I had completed the full 21.1km. When I stopped and pressed save it showed 21.03Km. Legs are proper eina, feels the same as I did on day 3 of our recent tour from Jhb to Durban. While I ran a positive split, I’m still happy with that. I was about 58:00 at halfway and perhaps a touch too fast for the first 10km, but I know if I kept below 6:00min/Km I would have 3 mins in the bag, for just in case. Here are my 1km laps times which I used as my pace guide. Refused to walk, like a few others around me, and I’ll admit the final 4Km were the toughest few Km’s I experienced. Frosty Posted November 11, 2018 Share Great work, Frosty, and you nailed the sub-2 milestone on your first crack. Well done.thanks. I think 11 months of running, with friends that have done 21’s before has helped. I think the one person that wanted to be there was Scott (C-M). He helped with a few races, included my previous best (15km). Lexx, Hacc, Barry Stuart and 1 other

RussD1 Posted November 12, 2018 Share Well done Frosty. I looked for you at the start, but didn't see you. Did the 10k in 52:19. So now perhaps you should consider Durban Ironman 70.3 - ? Russ. Frosty

SeaBee Posted November 12, 2018 Share Nice one Frosty! Awesome to hit your goal first time in a new distance! I had to sit out Winelands - got a stomach virus on Thursday and is even now still a bit pap. But much better... Even braved my first coffee this morning! Mudsimus Posted November 12, 2018 Share Did my Comrades qualifier on Saturday. The plan was a sub 4. I was well on track going trough halfway in 1h52 and feeling great. But I completely blew apart in the final 7km. Finished in 4h04. In hindsight I think I completely underestimated the route, the final 10km was hell. Will do a sub 4 in the new year..hopefully ???? tjommies3, Ronniek, candz1 and 7 others

Ronniek Posted November 12, 2018 Share OFM in BloemfonteinOk was Winelands this Saturday in Stellenbosch and that has quite a sting in it’s tail. Gravel climb after about 30km making it quite interesting. Well done on qualifying. From the looks of things I’ll only be able to qualify from February next year. Already started having running nightmares [emoji1748][emoji3603] Lexx
Andrew Steer Posted November 12, 2018 Share I see Comrades have set the substitution cost at R300... sending a pretty clear message there
