I've found using running shorts with a built-in liner to be the best. Then you don't wear undies.

If you are experiencing chafing, then tights are the best.

This... and for long runs I found that I chafe on thighs a bit, so for those I have shorts with a longer built-in, almost like a tight. Currently using Nike ones, but there are others available as well. Whatever's on special...

Normal Y front undies for me, worn under lycra knee length running tights. Have not worn running shorts ( like polly shorts) for about 15 years now.

The Lycra running tights definetly prevent inner thigh chaffing.

the ones with built in undies are awesome, I hve a few from Nike, Adidas, Salomon etc

Otherwise you get seamless nylon undies from woollies (AU) they are also great and dirt cheap, all I wear nowadays all the time

Salomon also make a the slab boxer short, the matching shorts then clip to the underwear so you only have 1 set of elastic, super lightweight but combined it is like R1800

I use the Falke sport undies.

I swear by those things. Shorter than tights but just long enough to prevent thigh chafe.

They keep your junk tucked up and only just protrude from the bottom of old school polly shorts.

A winner for me. I get them in a 2 or 3 pack from Sportsmans Wearhouse

Apart from surely being catastrophically expensive, this is a really cool challenge.

Couple of facts wrong in that article. The womens record was just beaten at the 2019 race.

She averaged under 3:30 for each marathon... That's impressive

I usually also just run in my undies, but I'll look into the tights/polly shorts or built in liner options.

I've once bought a short with a built-in liner, not realising it had it in, but wasn't convinced. I like to have the bait 'n tackle nicely stowed away and that liner was a loose fit at best.

Slightly off topic. Anyone on here that's maybe a physio? So after more than 8 weeks off not running, I started again this morning with a slow 8km. The pain I got when my Metartarsal Bones was broken are gone, but I still feel a little bit of pain in my foot. Not so bad that I have to stop running. Is this just because of my foot that was broken and the parts are still a bit bruised?

How did you break a metatarsal?

Sorry if I missed this in an earlier post

Dammit, hope you heal ok!

Those are the last things you need problems with a long distance runner

Wow so havent been on the board for a while. Life gets in the way but Im still running. Overtrained a bit in Jan and picked up terrible knee pain. I lowered the milage and knee is almost back to normal.

Reason for my post is to share the antics of my local running buddies.

The links tell the story. I want to cry for missing out on the running part (knee was still shot)
