shaper Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Anyone have a Coros watch? Can you get it here? DC's review of it https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/02/coros-apex-multisport-gps-review.html
Chris_ Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Can you get it here? DC's review of it https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/02/coros-apex-multisport-gps-review.html Nah, you'd have to ship it over, and I'm tired of donating stuff to our wonderful postal service so thats a pretty big hurdle already. It just keeps popping up as a really decent watch. My fenix 3 is getting quite tired - the battery doesn't last quite as long anymore, the one button is getting very temperamental, I've had it a while so fair enough. I'm pretty set on the Suunto 9 because of the crazy battery life. However in the interest of having all my history in the same app I've been waiting on Garmin putting out a new fenix with the same battery capability. But the cost is where it gets interesting. If said new Garmin came out it would be alarming expensive I reckon. The Suunto 9 is already way cheaper than the current Fenix, but the Coros is only $300! Thats what, less than half price of anything else?!
dave303e Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 ironic we can't get it here but DCrainmakers test includes a Cape Town run. .. . . .
ScottCM Posted May 15, 2019 Author Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) How does the price compare to the Polar which has the built in power meter for running? EDIT: I haven't gone into to much research on the Polar as it might create an itch that financially I can't scratch right now. Edited May 15, 2019 by ScottC-M
RABUBI Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 There is more traffic on this thread than the Trailhub website since it was launched. Pity that www.trailhub.co.za is basically not as popular at the bikehub.

Pity that www.trailhub.co.za is basically not as popular at the bikehub.I have emailed admin about this before... They should have called it runninghub. There are no running forums out there like this thread. The best you can do (if you don't know about this thread) is to post on the Comrades facebook page and there is always one guy with a snotty answer. When they started it I mentioned it to them in one of the first threads that it is silly to be so restrictive about the forum and only catering for trail running. Pieter-za 1
Stretch Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 In not registered in that trailhub site even. Largely because I'm not a trail runner

(Same goes for Ironman World Champs in Kona...) 100% this is on the bucket list though. I'll sneak in through the charity route though.
ScottCM Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) With 34000 runnings "H" batch will stand for starting in Howick Call me stupid but surely starting with 34000 runners it will be easier to get the back runners across the start line in Durban on the highway than in PMB? ScottCM Posted May 16, 2019 Author Posted May 16, 2019 Wonder what they plan to extend the qualifying and cutoff times by? L46 1

Jackes Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Sheesh, I couldn't make up my mind what I thought of this cocky Jim character, but he is making it easier to decide as time goes by. https://twitter.com/runwithcuan/status/1128905231037865984 Hacc 1

Will they qualify for back to back medals? The purist in me says no but I guess it’s not their fault.
