I see, myself had a bad experience with version 4 but from version 5 and newer there's been vast positive improvements. Complete different feel to the older generations.

The Rincon might be worth trying if you want a more lightweight responsive ride, its labelled the racing Clifton.

I would like to try the Carbon sometime.

I agree with what most have said regarding change of brand. Why change if you're happy?

Secondly - it's a very personal thing. Many many runners love Brooks. It just does not work for me. I love Saucony, also Altra. New Balance is next in line. (I tend to get them for the daily accumlative mileage runs which kills shoes, since I can pick them up on special more often...)

I have not had good experience with NB, not me nor my wife.  (Apart from the NB trail - QOM and KOM)  But the road ones does not give mileage and just does not do anything for me.  I again am VERY happy with my brooks ghosts (9-12's) as well as Saucony.

I heard the new ones will be available in July. Cant wait!

Much more affordable and durable compared to the Nike next %

Are you affiliated to HOKA in any way?

What would you more experienced runners recommend out of New Balance and Brooks? I'm happy with my Pegasus 35's, but looking at trying a different brand of shoes when the 35's are ready to retire.

As the others have said, why change if you are happy?

What are you looking to gain from changing? Speed/comfort/cushioning etc?

It might help with some alternate suggestions? Brands all have good and not so good models, it depends what you are looking for?

Ive tried Hoka twice now. The cushion/weight/response ratio is just way out. They feel so sluggish and slow compared to everything else I use. And they just dont last. My Clifton 4s were literally falling apart at 300km. That said, if you want a shoe for recovery runs they are great, the cushioning, especially on the forefoot is something else.

Hoka's Clifton 4 wasn't their best... Fast forward 2 generations the durability is improved, responsiveness as well.

From my experience many years ago, when I used to run some long distance, cross country mini marathons. Brooks, New balance and Pegasus were favourites. Only ever had one pair of Pegasus. I am very heavy on soles, but Glad to see things have not changed much.

I now own a pair of New balance trail shoes. I had a couple of pairs of adidas kanadias before the NB. They were ok, but as with most adidas, they squash my toes. Before purchasing the NB, I went and tried everything out there, Reeboks( which I also liked) adidas, saucony, hooka, Nike, solomons. The NB are awesome, and would most likely get another pair. I do the odd trail run every so now and again, maybe once a month.

For road I would def consider brooks, Nike or possibly even Asics.

I know I am out of my depth compared to you guys, but just wanted to share.

If you can find the exact same model, I'd get it regardless.

I've found no pair of updated shoe is the same as the older discontinued one despite being called in the same range. I know Asics did this big time when they changed head designer and their customer base dropped off a cliff.

Can't agree with this more... trying to change shoe brands is a giant pain in the ass :)

All the extra shoes I bought trying to move brands would have covered the price difference for near on a decade heading forward...

Like a bicycle saddle, when you find something that works, stick with it

Just read now in timeslive Newspaper the Doc that is advising Ramaphosa is saying that we could be stuck between 2-3 year in intermittent Lockdown and he stated "Mass gatherings would not come back, physical distancing would stay, and the “way we engage with people will require caution”.

If this is true, I guess Comrades and other trail runs will be cancelled. I sincerely hope it doesn't.

Well o can't see any marathons happening this year. Postponing the Olympics by a year seemed normal then.. But now.... Who knows

Sanctioned marathons anyway. I think we will see backyard marathons for some time to come. Unless the novelty wears off.

What's the support like on the adrenaline Swiss? I'm aching to move away from the gt2000

Not sure how to describe it... I'd say its a neutral shoe with some support in the rear half and reasonable forefoot cushioning. Keep in mind i don't run long distances, i think my last ones i ran about 700km which is about 200km more than i usually run before replacing shoes ( i always replace my shoes early), but they were still in good condition.
