New bike if I loose 13 kg

Dude, it's simple. Eat 1000cals a day less than you need, and you will lose 1kg per week. That is all that there is to it. How you achieve that is up to you.

To know how much "1000cals less than I need" is you need to track how much you eat.

Food trackers don't lie, can't cheat and don't say to themselves, "I'll have an extra bite".

Trust me, just track your intake HONESTLY if you want results.

Yeah, the little things here and there add up SO fast

GOOD LUCK, dude!

Basic rules I followed to lose weight and build muscle:

1. 5-6 small meals per day (can use a supplement 2x or 3x)

2. no sugar (no aspartame, sucralose etc either)

3. NO BOOZE

4. weight training - sorry, cycling on its own isn't enough

5. if you didn't make it YOURSELF,  you CANNOT EAT IT

6. no crap / junk food in the house

7. drink LOTS AND LOTS of water

8. have a cheat day now and again (1x per week)

.

It's corny but I would recommend reading "Fit For Life".

Cut all bread and sugars. Or go full Paleo. I dropped 10kg's this year. And have 5 more to go. Then good exercise plan (spinning, riding, intervals etc). You dont need to practise 5days a week though

Sorry, it might be a pain, but people who guesstimate their intake will never show the results of something that is measured.

My wife guesstimated her calorie intake and when I showed her the actuals on a tracker, she was always under guesstimating. It's called opinion bias.

Once you have been tracking it for a while, THEN you get a good feel for what is what.

It might be a pain, but anything worth while is a bit of effort.

I couldn't agree more. It will also help you to see what foods are not good for you in terms of weight loss. For instance if you're weight stall, you can easily go back and see what you ate.

On MyfitnessPal you can also add your exercises and additional notes, like how you felt the day etc to help you in your quest.

I will agree that weighing your food and keep track of every thing is a mission of note. As Patch said, you will soon get a feel for it. I don't weigh my food so much anymore, but I stick to tracking it to a tee.

A challenge and a reward best motivators,

One of my suppliers/mates challenged me years ago to race94.7 the loser had to dress up in drag and we went to one of those Laarnie restaurants and the loser paid the bill, half way through the year I knew I had it,

Good luck

Lots of threads about this.

Number 1 step.

Download a calorie counter like Fatsecret, capture EVERYTHING you eat, you will notice very quickly where you need to cut down. Eat 1000Cals a day less than you need and you will drop a kilogram to a kilo and a half per week easy peasy, even more for the first few weeks.

You might go hungry, but a LCFH diet will help stem the hunger.

Good luck, and I get dibs to ride the Ritchey for the free advice above :whistling:

Edit: Remember you lose weight through DIET, you get faster by training harder :)

I cannot stress how much diet plays a part in this.

What size is your Colnago?

Frame was purchased locally from Bicicletta through Summit Cycles - the bike was built by the sheriff too.

Everything else I got online, or already had it.

I originally wanted to upgrade my 2007 carbon bike, but I'm glad I went this route giving me the option of riding different bikes.
