well this just sucks! But I guess riders safety comes first. I bet tomorrow is gonna be a glorious day, might have to go ride the sprit and get all muddy anyway.

Yesterday I saw pics of most of the bridges which has been washed away or destroyed by floating debris. Then the other parts of the route through storm water drains probably not such a hot idea after heavy rains. It was inevitable that the event couldn't be held...

So they are postponing. Till when and will they refund those that can't make the new date?

Also, I imagine the risk now is that rain and storms will be more prevalent for the next few months and might have to cancel or postpone again.

Pity non the less, I was looking forward to the event.

Not sure what the take will be now they're changing the wording to postponed, but this is what they said yesterday on their Facebook page about possibly cancelling.

You do that mate and then you can also pay the R2500-00 bill to repair your bike afterwards cause you have an open gearbox on an MTB and adding mud to that is always a good idea....

MTB'S should only be ridden in the dry then ????

I'm pretty sure I'm still going for a ride tomorrow morning. But I'll stay out of those storm water drains. A little bit of mud never hurt anyone. Rule #9 still applies its just not an organised race.
