Logistically impossible?Traffic authorities have strict guidelines for where they allow the finish to be, basically whre it will cause the least amount of disruption and not endanger road users. Race organizers also want it to be on a straight and pretty wide stretch to accommodate a safe bunch sprint finish with a smaller chance of crashes happening in the last kilometre or so of the race.
Winstonian1984 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I have to agree with Skubarra, go into the red and stick with the strong guys in your group if you can as after the climb you will be able to recover until you get to Botmaskloof where again you would need to go into the red to try and stay with the group. After that its pretty flat all the way except for the wind and the last climb on the R44. Seriously??? LOL, or is it that super sexy De Rosa Protos of yours that flattens the road? cos last I remember the last few kms can be torturous.....especially that little bump at knorhoek which feels like a mountain.

TBH its not that bad after Malmesbury just that Knorhoek climb that will be a killer with 160kms in the legs. Hoping for a calm northerly wind on Sunday as well
