Off to ride the Jock this weekend, hoping will be able to get my 1200 points in one go  ;)

And then have an easy week for a change.....

I did exactly this this past week. Got 1500points on sunday and just relaxed for the week. Needed a "rest" week

I take a recovery week every 4 weeks, irrespective of what the VAR target is, but considering I have my wife’s Apple Watch on my profile, and both our gym contracts, I try (wherever possible) to make the target each week.

An 8-week cycle taking into account the recovery weeks in the 4th week (and FTP test every 8 weeks). Wash, rinse, repeat.

I'm now getting emails from Vitality suggesting I upload and sync my activities. I feel no incentive to do so and have not done so in months. Next year if I decide to continue with the system and points become needed and available I will upload until I have met my goals.

This week I've done the following:

5km hike 1hrs40mins @ 53% = 100pts (sight seeing and photo in-between that time)

2500m swim - 46mins @ 74% = 100pts

2000m swim - 37mins @ 72% = 100pts

1hr16mins spinning @ 67% = 100pts

41 mins running @ 78% = 100pts

Still trying to figure out the point calculation specifics.

So now, I miss my goal...

Is that all? lol...

I got to gym 5 times a week and now have to kill myself for 30mins on the spinning bike to have a 152bpm avg twice a week, so that 7 days a week I have to be active. FU VAR!!!

Simple - if all of those had been above 80% of Age related max, you'd have had at least 300 punte per effort and 600 for the 5k hike.

30 min @ 80% HR or

HI

You need to get a higher heart rate to get to the Vigorous level.

HR categories – Moderate: 70 – 79% Vigorous: 80+ % (% of 220 minus your age) |

with Discovery's lack of interest in allowing a recovery week, I do just that. Plan a 1500 point ride for the Saturday and then do active recovery and rest through the next 10 days before hitting the intervals again on Tue, Wed and Fri to get at least 300+300+300.

Makes it a bit harder now that the target is 1000+, but still achievable - as 600+600 or 300+600+300.

i do the same my Saturday club ride is normally 300, then Sunday its 600+ on Monday double spin class 600 points target for the week achieved.Thursday off, Wednesday wattbike 30km+ . The only ride on Saturday again. So it's not impossible to hit your target

Another week on 1000 for me.

It's going to be interesting in the week I'm away (from a Friday to the Wednesday). The weekends are usually the opportunity to smash a 600-1500 point ride.

It will most likely be a 1200 week that week, judging by the interval my points increase.

Will cross that bridge when I get there, but I foresee a few Froome-like shuffles for 30-mins.
