It's not bad. Just i don't get the drive/swipe reward every week. So I'll most likely give it s skip

Does anyone have some information on what the vitality money goals are and how they work/scale. Like the health one is up to 900 points, with the HR table for points? I can not see any specifics on their site, Just something about having better spending habits

Yeah, I reckon I would get about 17.5% off on a regular basis. I will look at it next time i decide to buy a new phone as 17.5% is better than a slap in the face with a wet fish, but I'm not going to upgrade eary.

It shows on the money circle... 20 points.

The app shows you how to get points:

Awesome thanks, just checking out all the details before making a decision. Difficult to get the information without already having the products. Will do some math to see if this is worth it,

The advantage of being on a pre-paid option. That said, having a hand me down phone is the negative of being on pre-paid. At least now I have the opportunity to upgrade the phone every two years without the schlep of a contract.

Probably not their best approach to signing people up.

Yes, carried over to the following year as normal. If you're on Diamond, you'll only need to get a bit more points next year. The old rule of 3 years on gold=diamond is no longer.

So how does one get to Diamond...?

Yep, had a whole argument with them about that, they keep spinning bull**** about it being personalised. Fokol personalised when a computer is running it, a computer is based on rules which means everything is relative.

If you do x, you get y. It's that simple.

I was listening to the DCRainmaker and GPLama podcast, and Ray talks about how it appears that he is constantly giving Strava a hard time about their product/service offering. He responded by saying that he loves their offering and them as a company but points out where they could be better.

I feel the same about Discovery... they do offer good value, yet I give them a hard time (in private) when things aren’t right.

No you right they do, but Thier approach with the banking platform has been ass backwards.

Banking is not a small decision, once you get to adulthood it like a freaking marriage, it's a calosal las to change banks and quite frankly the offer need to be exceptional from the new bank or your existing bank had to have gone down the crapper.

I can change medical aid, insurance companies and to some degree even moving houses will be less inconvenient and painful than changing bank accounts.

The problem with discovery bank is they offer a large list of "maybe" rewards and in order to earn those rewards you need to meet secret goals, with secret rules and secret requirements.

I am not sure about others, but fnb does not piss me off and through eBucks I get close on R1500 worth of value for my R200 in bank charges. For me, why would I toss all that away for some maybe reward that I can earn through secret requirements?

If you banked with not fnb, you can go to eBucks.com, go to the calculator and spend 10 minutes working out how much you would get back, obviously longer if you really wanted to go into detail, play with options and be pretty specific. For discover I have to go on blind faith, as far as I can tell, the only way to get maximum value is to move your entire banking profile over. From the bits of information that has come out, your rewards are based on income, relative to spending and saving habits and savings accounts at other banks do not count, only an external RA or investment with an investment house can be provided as proof of savings so if you have a money market investment via your bank, it does not count.

How do they expect people to literally make a life altering decision off rumor and mystery. They not selling a magic show or a carnival here, this not a teaser for a movie. This is not a time for less is more.

There is no half arsing vitality money reward, you either all in or wasting your wasting your time and I for one ain't throwing away a 15+ banking relationship with knwon High value rewards for maybes and possibilities.

.....

Thought so as well ....

Got a bond from another bank, and was offered a further reduction in interest if I moved over my salary and general banking .....

I very reluctantly agreed - after they ASSURED my "they do all the debit/stop order transfers" .... Yeah right !!!

YOU need to fill in a ton of paperwork, providing them with ALL the information for each and every one of those.  Took a good few days accumulating all that information !!!  Submitted it all to the (not so) wonderful staff at FNB.  They merily went about their business moving it all across .... NOT !  :cursing:

The municipality requires YOU to walk into the offices and do the change in person .... took only a few minutes.  :w00t:

Telkom .... I had to go in personally ... again, just 2 or 3 minutes.  :w00t:

Medical aid .. had to do it via my broker

You get the idea .... for their false promises I had to do most of it myself.

Guess what ?  It showed me just how EASY it is to move to a different bank !!

moving a business account is MUCH more trying .... as you have clients that keep on paying to the old account ..... open the new, move items as it suits you, and keep the old one open for a few years.  Then you get to the point where you start enjoying the benefits of having two accounts, less delays for payments, options when one is down, etc etc ....
