Nothing that seems out of the ordinary to most but today it all means a lot to me. Its a beautiful day, its a Friday, a nice catch up evening planned with friends tonight, a family ride on Sunday.

That's the thing with SA... the boring average day is actually still pretty darn spectacular - we often just take it for granted. Not a lot can compete with a day playing with your kids by the pool (or the beach for the lucky coastal buggers) and slapping some meat on the braai for some friends/family.

Even these winter afternoons of late have been incredibly pleasant, perfect for a picnic at the park or a lunch outside. And winter itself seems to last only just long enough for the novelty of a lit fireplace and family snuggled up on the couch to start to wear off.

Bring on Summer though, glorious sunlit mornings freshly recovered from the evening thunderstorms, endless blue skies...

It's hell in Africa

Nothing can beat today's good news.. The day I can watch something like that or read follow up articles and not have a small tear in my eye.. is the day that I know that south Africa is not for me.. But today I'm smiling like a Cheshire cat with a small tear in my eye... wayde has done more for south Africa in those 43 odd seconds than any politician has done in a lifetime
