My scalpel team 2014 has a terrible squeaking noise after around 2 hours of riding which I just cannot seem to sort out - I have copper  pasted the chainring bolts, cleaned the drive chain, tightened the wheel axle and cassette, replace bb bearings - bike shops say the linkages are in good order - Any advice will be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its likely the linkage at the pinch bolts and axles. The pinch bolts and axle ends where the frame members clamp the linkage axles need to heavily copaslip 'd

I had a problem like that as well.  TorqZone then took the pivot behind the rear shock apart and put a paste between the carbon and alu bits.  All sorted since then.

Give them a call and chat to William,  I cant remember what the paste called

Troubleshoot it as much as possible.

does it happen when:

  • you pedal?
  • your feet are off the pedals and rolling?
  • you bob up and down on the saddle?
  • you bob up and down while standing?

Sounds tend to mysteriously travel through your bike, so just listening around doesn't work.

I had a squeaky old scalpel, turned out to be my pedals the one time (just needed a clean+grease) and the other times were just my spokes on my Mavic wheels.

In the same boat.  Same year model.

When I stand on the right pedal is creeks loudly.  left side pedal.....nothing.

Thought my right pedal was shot.....replaced.  Same crackling noise.

Replace BB.

Same noise.

Remove SI cranks and clean.

Same noise.

Open all pivots and grease.

Same noise

Derailleur hanger grease.

Same noise.

The bike is now 1kg heavier with all the grease and when I climb onto it, it ooooozes grease out everywhere like a decent shammy on 'n stage race.  :whistling:

I have finally given up.

From all the posts it sounds like it can be anything, strip bare everything and grease and rebuilt everything that can turn?
