I want to upgrade my current dual air 2012 100mm Travel fork to a 120mm 34 Pike or similar.

I have credit with CRC so i'm going in blind.

I currently have a Trek superfly but will be changing this frame shortly, what fork do i get, the confusion is the Offset and the Taper, can anyone explain this?

Offset shouldn't be an "option" as far as I understand. I don't think I've ever seen it as an option that you can select like ThruAxle / QuickRelease.

And "tapered" refers to the steerer... so whichever your new frame accepts - probably tapered though. Not sure you'll even get a pike with a straight steerer.

Edit: I see there is a 51mm / Standard Offset in the options on CRC - First time I've ever seen that.

Dude! Best deal ever.. most ppl who have ridden this and the PIke reckon it wipes the floor with the Pike,...

I have one and you can step it down to 130 and 120mm pretty easy if u like and really loving the performance. I think you won't find that fork for under around R13 000 is RSA

That Mattoc is a very good deal but again the travel is way over what you looking for and its only in 26 and 27.5 where you are probably looking for a 29er fork? I recon you need to decide what frame you are going to get before buying a fork...

Yep. Superfly = 29er.

MRP (from Bibi) or fox 34 or revelation /Pike depending on what you want it for.

What type of riding do you do most?

A slight problem here... If you're insistent on doing the deed with CRC, for what I'm able to see they only have the latest RS stuff in stock, and older fox. For what it's worth I wouldn't touch a fox from 2012 to 2015 unless it is the 36 Van RC2 or vanilla...

So it seems as if your choice is Pike, revelation or manitou.

Unless you get an MRP from Bibi, which would be cheaper anyway.

He wants something bigger than the 100mm he's got, and will be changing his frame soon. The type of riding has almost boggerall to do with the fork choice unless it's at 140/150mm where you get cross purposes with Revelation/pike/32/34 etc,or if weight is the primary concern (which, by looking at a bigger fork, it probably isn't)

IMO

But I'm still curious....

Thanks Guys

Ok so this is the situation, I do lots of CX riding, 60KM average on a day, however I am heavy 96KG, I have GBP pounds worth of CRC vouchers so I want to buy a nice fork{pike} and thinking of putting it on my current Superfly,

Long term that Suerfly keeps braking so I will hopefully upgrade to a fuel EX or Camber, maybe even a Epic, and carry my prized fork with me.

The only Pilke available is the 120mm with offset, can I use this offset fork on any on any of these frame choices
