Just some info if anyone needs.

My belt broke on my Wahoo Kicker V2 on Sunday, I took it off and checked the tooth count. I called around and no one had the same tooth count but from experience I knew the tensioner on the trainer moved quite a bit so I just bought a belt with 169T instead of 170T which is the original Wahoo belt. Fitted the 169T and fits perfectly and plenty of room to adjust the tension. The new belt cost me R122.50

My Kickr Core stopped registering power, cadence and speed, despite the power and bluetooth light being on and maintaining a connection to my Garmin Head Unit and Wahoo app. I was using ERG mode at the time.

Garmin and Iphone still pairing with the unit, but still no power, cadence and speed.

Anyone else have this issue and how was it resolved?

Reading of all the challenges some have with their Kickrs and then also those that have high mileage  / time on theirs without issue- I am keen to understand what is behind the differing experiences?

Is it the power being pushed?

Variability of power?

Erg vs non Erg mode?

Had same symptoms for my Kickr V4 a few weeks ago.

Wahoo cannot help and it seems based on the research I did no fix for the PCB board (where it seems the issue is being caused)

Ended up buying new Kickr zwift, wahoo offered a 20% discount on the purchase.

I was wondering about this the other day.

I ride mine solely in erg mode so i leave it in a middle-ish gear to keep the chain line straight.  Had it on a larger gear for a while but think the unit will have to produce more resistance so will put more strain on the system.

Looking at the size of the zwift cog, there seems to be some logic in running in a smaller gear. But with a normal cassette, that skews the chaon line a bit.

I also use ERG mode mostly, but try to spread the load across the cassette at times as the cassette is used when outside as well.

try using a different device to connect to the kickr - i had a similar problem once and it turned out to be the bluetooth connection from my ipad was dodgy, even tho it was connected.  I swapped device to my phone and it worked fine

I did also connectef to zwift, fulgaz and Wahoo app.

Kickr was found successfully(for all data fields) on all apps although the same symptom as described by poster was evident.

Called Ikhambi, they advised they offered the same and its common problem. No technicians to resolve the issue locally and they will offer a discount to replace the unit.

Has anyone moved away from Wahoo to another brand because of the issues raised in this tread and what are your experiences? I just don't want to take another Wahoo and have the same issues 5 years later again.
