super stoked.

Got my "call up papers" for the sprint age group champs.

Not sure how it will go, but I'm keen to give it a bash.

National or international?

Where will it be held

Entered Durban 70.3 and planned to start training on the 2nd. Fell off my MTB on New Years Eve and stuffed my shoulder and elbow up so I can't swim or cycle outdoors for 4 to 6 weeks and cycling on the indoor trainer is really uncomfortable... Bugger  :cursing:

Guess I'm going to be doing a lot of running over the next few weeks  :P

Them's the breaks sometimes. Just gotta roll with it really.

And , being a triathlete one can still run, that's the beauty of multisport :)

So long you running and keeping fit all will be good. Take the time needed to recover and go for it.

Good luck

Surprised you can run if you cannot sit comfortably on the IDT.

Heal up well, still plenty of time to recover and train before Durbs.

See you at the start line!

Just a matter of 3 weeks to Dubai to get out of the way first  :whistling:

How did the training go in Bloem over the holidays?

didn't get around to swimming

had a good few rides with Vetseun (Woodlands, Wit Hekke x2)

Running was lekker as I got to run with my wife for a change (ouma loved babysitting)

I'm in the market for a new Tri Watch. I currently have the Suunto Spartan trainer, but was really disappointed in the watch from the start. Very inaccurate swimming stats, Suunto's training software is borderline useless and can't upload training programs in the watch. So I need something that can help me towards my first Full IM.

The new Garmin 945 and has caught my eye, also the Fenix 6 Pro.

The Polar Vantage V also looks like a solid watch

Don't stress about the swimming, you will loose max 5 to 7 minutes, where in the run you can loose 20min+ if the training did no go as planned

Doing first triathlon - 70.3 Durban.

Please can you give me some advise re trisuit?

Thank you

Go with a one piece sleeved suit, it's the safer option.

Practice wearing it in training, don't wait for the big day to use it for the first time.

I've had the 945 since July last year, can't fault it and has worked perfectly.  Daily watch, health tracker and 12hrs+ a week training. OHR works fine for me so don't uses a HR strap anymore  During Tri's is just the watch and connects to all sensors, PM/Cadence etc.  Sensor connectivity is much better than the F5 that I replaced it with.

Ediit: Open water swim tracking is decent.

I am a solid Garmin Groupie, self admitted and not ashamed.

945 or Fenix 6, or even F5 or 745 etc. Garmin just have this tri watch market sorted.
