that's SOP for you, so no... doesn't really make us feel any better.

Is it THAT flat?

Yep it's that flat I had to crawl up it on Tuesday. And no I hadn't been drinking.

I think I gonna have to investigate this for myself!!!

I did a bit of measuring today looking at this area. Hopefully this picture gives a bit of perspective on size. Five meters from the drop it is four meters lower and it keeps on going down.

Next up is the slope, which in parts is roughly this

Just got confirmation on our proposed reopening of certain routes that all has met with approval.

As of this weekend (14 October) the old access route passed Faire Garden, as well as Level 5, are both open and ready to ride.

Of course it will be some time before we can start reopening the singletrack in the FG/Roots area, you'll see why while pedalling up the road. The place is so different now but sometimes through change we are given a new opportunities, we got some nice plans in the pipeline for this area...

Thanks again to SANParks area management for being so accommodating and willing to find resolve to these few remaining issues.

Thanks also to the TDRA (local horse riding reps) who agreed to the use of the detour track because without their approval, we'd all still be locked out of Tokai... Farewell "elevator".

If you look carefully you can see a person in that shot, it should give an idea of what happens on that part of the trail and of the scale.

Literally thousands of rocks have been carried and dug into place. And there are bits there where the best way to get up the slope is to crawl...

Earlier today Deon made a comment that "maybe we should stone line one of the berms". I tried to kill him on the spot but he is far faster than he looks...

We're going to have to do this to one section of trail in Paarl that is just eroding to a point of being unrideable. Genuinely not looking forward to having to do this without imported labour.
