For those wondering about the wind...it is going to blow. There will be no miracles on the day. It is going to huff and puff and blow your house down. Fortunately with that out the way it won't be so bad if you work with your group. Take turns up front and enjoy the view.

Windguru has changed their predictions to a Southerly. I usually trust WindGuru's wind predictions, even though their temperature is sometimes off.

Be glad it is not Thursday's prediction.

my starting time is 8.18. I thought of arriving around 7.30. Is that early enough?

My personal opinion is that is a bit late. Things tend get very hectic at the starting chute, so I always try to get there at least 2 hours before my start.

Agree with Jaco. It gets a bit crowded at that time with thousands who are meant to start later, blocking the entrances to the starting chutes. They will then slow you down and stress you out. Go at lease 1.5 hrs before your starting time to make it smooth and get into the front half of your starting block..

Definitely too late. Don't worry about standing around for hours getting bored. We are a friendly bunch of people when its just cyclists standing around together. All have a common interest. It's just when we have to deal with motorists that we not friendly......

There is music, people chatting, an awesome vibe and toilets nearby. So get there a bit earlier and make new friends.

Plus the toilet line is longer than most Home Affairs lines, so if you need to go it takes a while. . .

LOL good comparison. I attempted that que on Friday and Saturday. Lets just say my passport is still expired and my baby still doesn't have one. I can't stand waiting in que's.

Luckily in my start pen the last few years there has been virtually zero que. I think we only 30 tandems.
