When you judge how good a set of wheels are based on how loud the freewheel is....

Haha, I can relate... My old ringles are obnoxiously loud.

They make hopes sound like a church mouse peeing on the stoep.

Was looking at new wheels and I'm hellbent on relacing to the old hub even though it'll probably cost more.

even your tyres for the car will be cheaper than tyres for your bike :P

True, but so sad... And the bike tires don't last 10% of the car tires...

When you try soooo hard at a family braai not to only talk about bicycles and everything related to cycling. But still fail miserably.

Coming down Chapmans Peak once a guy once asked whether I had a big one on. I must have looked shocked.....then he said, it sounds like your fishing reel is screaming........that's mah Campy road wheels man! They sound like I've caught a Marlin that is making for the horizon!

When you've spent more time off the bike then on it, due to crashing on the bike but still keep coming back for more.

I keep having to explain my addiction to my friends and colleagues, I find I keep saying things like, "Well, if you look in relation to the amount of hours/kilometers I ride, I don't really get injured all that often..." which I must admit sounds an awful lot like any type of addict saying things like, "I can stop any time I like" :P

When you come home after a drive to the winelands and fire up Google earth to see where that dirt road led off to...

You take the family on a scenic drive through the western cape and all you do is look at the road and think:

"Jeez, but the western cape has got smooth road surfaces...perfect for riding
