I always wondered if Mart and Johnny Clegg were brothers......

Weird that you say that, I dislike the use of the word "legeeend", but to me Johnny Clegg is a living legend and I also always think of Martin when I hear JC, they typify the essence of a Zulu warrior.

Just imagine the battling between those two's genes to decide who was going to be the dominant one... more action than a Game of throne season finale

All I can say is one of those two is going to be a record record breaker of note.

I absolutely agree.. That and they also look more than similar!

And lets not forget that after all this excitement there are still a lot of riders out there .

Totally agree - lots of entertainment still waiting for the dot-watchers!

The race for second is on, my money is on Leon Erasmus

I believe that after JT sitting up and waiting for him they will finish together. In race to Cradock JT got attacked by the sleepmonsters and Leon had to push on to win as they where not far ahead of Mike's time. Not sure if the Cradock split was a joint call but very likely.

They will stick together to the end . shared 2nd place

Agree, they will finish together. They have been riding together on the Freedom Trail since Romansfontein RASA 2016, then RTC, RTW & now RASA 2017. The odd split at RTC when sleepmonsters got JT and LE pushed on to go for sub-48 & the win and then at Cambria when LE punctured and didn't want to hold JT back.

Re JT and LE:

loved this tweet this morning: "Out McGregor 0230 JT LE.... tell the world we are coming home!"

I think most people who do some sort of endurance riding will know that music plays a key role in your motivation at times, whether its a playlist or a favourite 'pick me up' song, there is so much time and these things creep into your head.

At some stage in 2012 en route to Hofmeyer Jody says something to me, (he often had some angry music going), and I say to him "its got to be P Diddy - 'Comin Home'", he instantly says yes thats the one, that'll do.

I would put money on whoever sent that tweet that PDiddy's - 'Comin Home' is blasting in their ears from time to time. If you havent heard it and you need some ummpff to get home - have a listen.

Marnitz with the alternative line out of the valley this morning...

Really looking forward to see his time and progress compared to the other guys going the more traditional route.
