The only hub reset was the 2 days of deep depression and withdrawal when the hub crashed.... and they had to reset to a back up from a few days/a week earlier... everyone had a reset then...

not of post count, trust me...

wasn't a full reset on the post count, but we all lost a few at the time... was more of a haircut of the post count....

For sure, but a 50 post tells you nothing so shouldn't make you shy away from a purchase.

Were the post counts not reset when it moved to Bikehub.co.za from thehubsa.co.za?

Which is why it is problematic. You buy from someone with 0 posts it's the same as any online classifieds like gumtree. You buy from someone with 1000 posts and it's like buying from someone you know but just haven't met yet.

This entire thread was an arbitration between two users who before the thread started had like 10 posts between them.

Well...what's the problem with buying off Gumtree if you go view the thing in person?

If you don't check ti, tough.

It's more the 1000 count that bugs me than anything else.

It's like it was thumbsucked out of thin air.

I've been semi-active on here for years and don't have 1000 posts...Can I borrow some of Myles' to make up? :P

Correctomondo.

Hence - "he swapped the wheel for a cheapie". with the same spoke count. Nevermind found the right *bladed* spoke lengths (cos different ERD) re-laced the wheels and then sold them on.

Nah. Bruh, your story is wank. He'd have paid more for the rim and relacing than he got for the entire set.

The jurisprudence of the bikehub is rich in learned, erudite legal parlance. This particular finding is immortal, and deserves special recognition for its laudable addition to the general body of hub legal precedent. Myles Mayhew take a bow.

Okes...why is 1000 posts statistically more significant than 567 posts?

Because people with less than 1000 posts normally need to ask questions like this one.

If you had over 1000 you probably already would know why :D

I seem to recall postcount being reset when the hub was moved to different forum software, but that is going back many many years.
