Confused, on the Cannondale Website it lists the scalpel 3 as having RR snakeskin tyres and 11/42. I have one on order and was swapping the cassette for a SRAM 10/42 with a 34 chainring.

Please confirm which is correct as this report says it has an 11/46 as standard.

Cannondale SA have confirmed that the bike will be shipping with a 11-46 cassette and not 11-42 like the early sample we reviewed. I have updated the review accordingly.

Great

After your review, I went to my LBS to address the 11-46 and come up with a plan

They then confirmed that the Shimano 'saucer' ???? will be fitted as standard

Will check on the RR tyre comments as well. If that issue has been addressed as well with the stock spec, then they've really hit the ball out of the park on this one.

Hi Guys ,

Any feedback in re to your 1st outing on this bike  ?  I am considering to perhaps ordering 1 .

My buddy is enjoying his so much just bought a second one in another colour - supposedly for the Missus but unofficially his training bike :)

Did his first race at Magoebaskloof this weekend and got his best result ever.

Collected mine last week Thursday. Rode it on Saturday and its awesome!!

Only mini-gripe - not sure I'm sold on the 11-46 cassette.

Can someone confirm that a 36T will fit? I was told that 34T is the max.

Got confirmation from my LBS that 36 tanne is workable

Worth considering for the endurance style riders amongst us

WTF is a training bike? Does it have balance wheels?

Obviously if you a cyclist you need to marry a woman the same size as you, preferably with a large bank balance, though. For this training bike thing to work, that is. I got it totally wrong.

Guys I need some input please. My carbon 3 is standing at my LBS. I want a 36 chainring for it with the 11/46 that's on the bike. Apparently the oval chainring will not work on the bike due to frame clearance issues as the ring is to wide.

Next is to source a 36 round with the cannondale direct mount, any ideas as we are coming up blank. Wolf tooth make a camo system but I have to order in from the states.

My last option is to change to SRAM 10/42 and run a 34 chainring.

Any ideas please?
