Go read the rules.....development category gets the same prize money as the other categories ie 1st R40k, 2nd R10k and 3rd R5k, for each category (development included).

My neighbour told me that VR could not operate for quite a while after last year's Munga .

Yes my understanding is VR is on partial disability, only working 2 days a week because of the nerve damage to his hands.

 

Obviously had loads of time to train but maybe a bit foolhardy to attempt this again? (Maybe a trait you need to survive this race...)

Edit nr2, wouldn't make sense that they would somehow hold him back now because that would give him time to rest so not much of a penalty. Maybe he realized, turned around but then abandoned the idea... These dots are driving me crazy.
