It is quite simple.  Most of us browse theHub during working hours.  Have respect for us and don't infringe on our right to do so.  These avatars can make life difficult for us in an office environment.  If you feel the need to have these images on your computer why not fix your wallpaper accordingly?

No, but people should really sit down for meals - it's not polite consuming in public and bad for your digestion.

I think Admin needs to make a decision on this one because we can argue for hours on end, its his house after all we should abide by his rules. I personally would prefer not seeing naked bodies on a cycling forum because there is seriously a million times more sources for that on the internet than there is for a good old cycling discussion.

For those that are tired of talking bikes there is the chit chat forum where we can do just that, but i'd like to be able to browse this site at work and at home without my colleagues and wife / child thinking i'm browsing for porn.

Step 2: Type in desired smutty term into search box

Step 3: Click on the search button

Step 4: Click on the "images" link above the search bar

I'm offended by your signiture, it has nothing to do with cycling and is offensive to me as a Lion supporter who have won more games than Cheetahs but still remain at the bottom of S14. LOL

The strange part about this whole issue is that the guys that are posting this smut were orginally attracted to this sight because it was about a sport they are passionate about and they could communicate with like minded individuals. Yet they are now the morons that are driving cyclists away from the forum because the can't stick to cycling issues.

 

Admins way to polite to say what most of us are thinging... ****off and go play in another sand pit' date=' we're tired of your senseless drivel.

Hope this is more acceptable for the CYCLING site. Remember if this is only a cycling site you should not discuss religion, pineapple or couches as well. My avatar was Madonna dancing, I dont know how that is offensive because she is in every book, newspaper etc. But I respect other opinions - just wondering if they respect mine??????RaceChick2008-05-15 02:22:15

HR, in all honesty there are a number of old hubbers who hardly come on anymore - they pop in for a few minutes int he evening every now and then but that's it. they can't come on in office hours anymore because of the smut (work environment issues) and it takes them a few hours to find cycling related topics because the threads are all wayyyy off cycling subjects within a post or two.

Holy it all boils down to one thing,  people become emotional and then they completely go off the clock.   Then they feel that an expletive is justified.

 

Same with how the whole thread started, it was an emotional posting and look how many people got onboard and bashed my avatar.

 

BUT if you go back on other threads everyone said that that was one sexy avatar.  Now according to everyone it is smut and I must be banned off the hub.

 

If you want to be emotional take a Valium or Prozac.   Or post on the HubWinkWinkWinkWink

All this thread has managed to do is raise a few people's heart rates and blood pressures, as well as get the desired response for the original poster - to place some (if any) small regret in to fellow hubber's minds (Samma, MTBaiisiklist etc) for using a "questionable" avatar.

 

Personally, I do believe there is a line, but then every person's individual line is different, which is why we end up having these arguments in the first place. I think we need to have a bit of self-control when it comes to things like avatars. However, there is always going to be one person who is offended, and who will kick up a fuss about it.

 

Saying that, we do all have to think about our avatars as this forum is freely available to anyone, and should be treated as such. No smut (ie suggested sexual poses, visible bits etc) Also included should be any avatar that shows someone mouthing F*&k you... yes, MTBaiisiklist, I am referring to your's. The words are clearly being said, and anyone who comes in here as a new user will automatically be offended.

 

End of the day, we need to adopt some sort of self-control when it comes to these. I know I am repeating myself, but hey. Seems to be going on a lot lately.
