Hope you killed it

Such a close minded thought...

If you knew anything you would see that the bucket is an African Snakebite institute bucket and with a bit of luck that snake will be milked for pharma's to make antivenom.

We actually had an antivenom crisis recently in more central parts of africa with different species due to the discontinuation of Fav Afrique, so actually a little bit of reading and appreciation can go a long way. This snake could be a part of a process which could save someone's life.

Its Friday. Maybe he meant it in a tongue in cheek kind of way.

I just don't understand how the snake catcher can hold the snake up with the head so close to him, I'll get so bewerig holding it up so close to me I'll pas out with the puffy falling right on top of me

Its Vetseun and it is Friday.  It IS tongue in cheek.  Moving on...

If that thing was caught near my house I would move to another province if need be.

Forced perspective.. That snake is nowhere near as big as it looks in that photo. If you follow snakes of south Africa Facebook group you will see photos like this dismissed time and time again

I think you'll only fall over from a bee sting, not holding a snake...  Thank god you made it to tell your story and share the need for anti-any insect/animal vaccinations/medication...

But jokes aside, that is one moerse blerry poisonous snake...and to be that up close and personal with it takes a nice set of steel balls...

Going up the switchback climb at Conties 2 weeks ago, I came across a snake sticking it's head out from a mouse hole in the middle of the single track (this was about 3 turns from the top). As I approached, it pulled its head back into the hole. I am not sure if it was a cobra or a mole snake. I did not care to find out either way.

I just kept on pedaling...
