Where are the gravel races?

Our dirt roads in SA are pretty rough. They are not like most gravel roads in the States. When I lived in Colorado you could ride most gravel roads on a normal road bike. Over here a gravel bike is better with at least 38c tyres. 361 is doable on a gravel bike but it won't be fun. Coming down Rooiberg I was happy to be on a monster cross with a Lauf fork and not my other gravel bike.

If you are going to win or feature (whatever that means) then you'll want to be on a mountain bike for 361. A gravel type bike just makes the challenge more interesting. Anyway guys that choose to ride a bike like this aren't going for the podium.
