In the words of the virgin Mary "come again"?

Well that's a relief :)

We started resolving the Langvad Spez XC  team confusion a few pages back, and sorted out the ambiguity... no harm in reading the balance of the thread to get up to speed before chipping in ... just saying.

Personally I am relieved she is still there, in only for Mev Venter's sake.

So that leaves no title defenders for women Cape Epic. Wonder if Kate and Anika will do Epic and with whom. Would be cool if the teams could be

Anika and Jenny (apparently signed with Specialize)

Kate and Sonya Looney (both Scott riders)

Wonder who Mariska would be signing with.

Arianne will do marathon events so not sure which team will fit the bill for riders only doing this discipline. Hope they don't give her another epic partner that will break her and she ends up another year or 2 paying for sessions to get over it

Kate isnt doing Epic this year.

Thank you, much appreciated from myself and Jeroen.

Jip congrats on this, its a great professional recognition of dedication to careers in cycling - well done!

Its especially nice to see in an Italian flavoured setup where traditionally the roles go to Italians.

It follows nicely on the heels of a couple of other Saffas who are perhaps less well known in SA, but are well admired internationally such as Brent Copeland and Gary Blem.

Good luck, hope it goes well and opens even more doors for you in the future.

Well deserved both of you. We hope that you can continue to contribute to this community and the south African cycling community through your insights and experiences. Super excited to follow you in 2019

The team yes is Italian by tradition but they have made a big step forward in the change of this, so far everyone from staff and riders have been amazing and supportive. As they say new things often bring renewed motivation.

Thank you, nothing changes from our end in terms of contribution in respect to SA cycling. My focus and attention has not changed and it wont, without that, I wouldnt of been able to get this position. Its all connected.

As much as I don't see the point of the Arab Gulf states sponsoring cycling teams, at the end of the day it's a business and we must be happy to have sponsors supporting the sport. The pro races there (and doha worlds) is boring as faaark, and there is basically no cycling culture to speak of..

As well as Jarrad Van Zuydam, Also a saffa.

Congrats Jeroen, John and Jarrad. Serious ammo for your CV. Seems you need a name starting with J......

Dr Rotunno also a boytjie, don't be fooled by the name.

There will be more afrikaans in the UAE backroom, good luck to them all.

What a crock of ****!!!!! Take it you never been to the UAE, just one club ride on a Friday attracts about 80+ riders, there are plenty other clubs as well. We also have around 200km of cycling dedicated cycle specific track in the city and into the desert. There is one race here during Ramadan that has prize money of AED1million, Thats around R3.8million. ONE race. Oh and Wolfi's bike shop was voted in the top 10 in the world. Not even going to start with the MTB that has just started it's new series. Some great single track out there.
