Skinnyone Posted July 17, 2017 Share RIP GA...truly a gentleman I had the pleasure of knowing. Condolences to Greg's family & friends. Quick question - the ER24 band on the seat post - was that perhaps linked to his personal details? Do the paramedics know to look for something like this? To answer your question Deon, yes the paramedics do (or should) look for any info possible, my sister in law worked for ER24 and Netcare and this is the kind of thing that is searched for first - obviously as soon as they get the patient stable enough. having it (your ICE ID) is preferably kept on your person rather than the bike as if the bike gets moved / thrown into the bushes in the crash / stolen from the scene, then critical info will be lost/harder to find. RichB Posted July 18, 2017 Share This is such a massive loss to our sport. Greg was a brutal competitor in a race, but an absolute Gent on a training or coffee ride as he'd call it. Always ready to compliment you on any strength improvements or to impart advice from his vast knowledge and passion for cycling. Gutted! I know of Tribute rides in Jhb and Karkloof (my home turf), but I will be in Stellenbosch this weekend. Does anyone know of anything being arranged that I can join? word Posted July 18, 2017 Share Incredibly moving memorial ride this morning to remember a giant of our sport. RIP Grandpa Greg. You will be sorely missed by all who knew you and rode with you. The massive turnout at ICG this morning on one of the coldest days of the year (many on mountain bikes) was a fitting tribute to your memory and legacy that you have left behind. nathrix Posted July 18, 2017 Share Fietsryer se dood ’n ‘ongeluk’, sê regsman Deur Alet Joubert 18 Julie 2017 13:17 http://www.netwerk24.com/Nuus/Hof/fietsryer-se-dood-n-ongeluk-se-regsman-20170718 Dit was ’n ongeluk en nié een waarvan sy kliënt weggejaag het nie, sê die regsverteenwoordiger van die man wat Greg Anderson, veteraanbergfietsryer, na bewering omgery het. “Ek wil eerstens namens my kliënt my medelye teenoor meneer Anderson se familie betuig,” het K.M.

If this is the standard set then woe are all of us,Like cart blanche running over cyclists. The precedent seems to have been set. Or am a too dumb to understand this correctly? Paulst12 Posted July 19, 2017 Share Apparently it happened 5km up the R535... so from there to Perry's Bridge is a max of 7km... and he took 3 hours to get help... umm i dont think so!!Another hole in the BS story... it happened at around 6am, which means that by 9am no other cars had gone up that route or he is implying that Greg went out at 3amDrunk driver... case closed... throw away the keys!!!
