FWIW the country normally supplies the strips and bibs they need to ride in. Not the rest of the kit. If Jen had signed the contract she'd have broken her contract with Scott and her personal sponsors. According to EU law, Swedish cycling cannot ask her to do that.

Tough to have too many sponsors! Does sound like a commission thing though. I can't believe how stupid a national federation (except ours) is to sign a deal which would directly force any of their sponsored riders into either not competing or breach of their other contracts. It should actually be considered gross negligence in my opinion.
